Deepika Padukone: My double role in CC2C was quite challenging

Deepika Padukone essays a double role in Nikhil Advani directed CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA. She has two distinct looks in the film, one which is pure Indian while other which is Chinese. Incidentally two characters that Deepika portrays are twins in the film. 'Yet again, I have a double role to enact in a film. In my first film OM SHANTI OM, I had a double role too though it was separated by 25 odd years. It was the case of being 'born again'. However, the difference this time around is that both the characters belong to the same times', says Deepika while maintaining that it wasn't easy to be playing both the parts.
In this Rohan Sippy production, she plays the role of Sakhi a.k.a. Ms. TSM (Tele Shoppers Media) who has embarked on a journey to pay homage to the land of her birth and her dead father and twin. Her other role requires her to enact the part of a sexy femme fatale who is interestingly named 'Meow Meow'. 'It was quite challenging to be doing a double role in CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA. While the Indian girl is sweet and simple, the Chinese is energetic, athletic and sexy. I am happy to have got an opportunity to play a simple as well as a sexy girl in one single film', adds Deepika. Says Nikhil Advani, 'With Akshay Kumar being cast as 'Sidhu', we had to find a very special girl. She had to be someone who could be comfortable playing a very beautiful Ms. TSN and at the same time turn into a fabulously sexy femme fatale Meow Meow. Basically the girl in the film had to be someone who was fresh, physically very fit and a good actress. Luckily the most exciting debutante actress to hit Bollywood films in a while, Deepika Padukone, came on board and we had our casting in place.' Final words of reassurance come from Ramesh Sippy as he states – 'Look out for this girl'!

Muslim crew of My Name is Khan denied US Visa

By now its common knowledge that after doing all the publicity and promotional drive for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Shahrukh Khan has embarked along with good friend Karan Johar to Los Angeles for the shooting of his next film My Name Is Khan. The film re-unites the super-hit jodi of SRK and Kajol after a hiatus of nearly 7 years (they were last seen in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001)However, even before shooting could commence in full swing, the unit of My Name Is Khan has been hit by a roadblock. Some Muslim members from the cast and crew of the film have been denied US visas. Among these include SRK's personal staff and also actor Aamir Bashir (who was last seen in A Wednesday).

Raaz - The Mystery Continues

Raaz - The Mystery Continues ( Hindi Film Songs , )Album Review-Not BadBy Usha LakraAudiences know what to expect from a Vishesh Films movie. Over the last two decades they have given some of the best musical hits. ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’, tentatively a sequel to ‘Raaz’, will not disappoint music lovers, though the album is not in the same league as the Bhatts’ past hit albums like ‘Jannat’, ‘Kalyug’ or ‘Zeher’.The movie, being directed by Mohit Suri, has a line of talented composers for the album – Raju Singh, Sharib-Toshi, Gourov Dasgupta and Pranay M Rijia. Lyrics are penned by their favourite Sayeed Qadri along with Kumaar.Bandaa ReThe track is a blend of rock music with realistic lyrics. Composed by Gourov Dasgupta, using Saint Kabir words with Bhagvad Gita shlokas, this song is very unusual for a Mahesh Bhatt film.

The track can also remind you of a song like ‘Bande’ from ‘Black Friday’. The song has a brooding effect just like the movie’s theme and is vocalized with great energy by Krishna S. Kaisa Yeh Raaz HaiThis song by Pranay M Rijia appears to be composed in the mood of ‘Yahan pe sab Shanti hai’ track from ‘Raaz’. But the song with quizzical notes fails to evoke that serious and intense mood. Kay Kay has done an average job of rendering this song.MaahiThis track is the main attraction of the album and sounds like a typical Vishesh Films’ song. This Sharib and Toshi rendition is a forceful number. Kangana is looking immaculate in the picturisation and the song is an apt choice for the film’s promotion. It’s another version ‘Rock with me’ is more of a filler in the album, but proves to be a good track for disc goers and club-hoppers.O JaanaYou can be forgiven for thinking that this is a Pritam composition. But it is Raju Singh who takes the credit for this party number with average lyrics. Kay Kay expectedly sings the song with required punch and energy. The remix version ‘Dance with me’ has a club-lounge kinda feel.

SoniyoThis is a mellow track but not that mellifluous. A nice rendition by Sonu Nigam, quite an expert in singing such numbers, while complementing him is the voice of Shreya Ghosal, and English lines are sung by Neeraj Shridhar. The song has serene, balmy feel. This song is best till now by Raju Singh.Soniyo - From The HeartKrishna S. wields the microphone with élan and gives the song a different mood. The song is set to a melodious scale and you will be mesmerized by the use of mouth organ in the music. Well, the entire album is not that dramatic like the movie sounds, neither has it the expected spooky effect. But it offers a good compilation for music lovers. And to compare Raaz-TMC with Nadeem Shravan’s ‘Raaz’ is inevitable. But this album will not disappoint, instead will leave you entertained just like the other albums from the Bhatt camp.

Akshay & Jumbo meal

Plot-wise, Jumbo is a stereotypical revenge drama. Even so, this time it's a sweet-looking elephant and not a gun-toting Amitabh Bachchan looking to serve justice. That, pretty much, makes all the difference.

Although the 3D animation isn't half bad, it cannot compete with the standards of Horton Hears a Who or Over the Hedge. Sadly, we are accustomed to such mediocrity that Jumbo shines like a beacon in comparison. Also, the character (expressive, assorted and charming) and background (rich detailing, ornate designs) art are quite nicely done contributing to the allure of the final product.

Of the voicing talents, Dimple Kapadia and Rajpal Yadav (he's what Donkey was to Shrek and Flounder to Ariel) shine best. Both the actors are effortlessly in sync with the mood and temperament of the characters they play. While Dimple is emotional and wonderful as 'Ma', Yadav aims for the laughs with his energetic commentary and banter.

As for 'Bad-man' Gulshan Grover, he expectedly renders sufficient terror in Bakhtavar's menacing tone.
Akshay Kumar doesn't have a traditionally strong baritone but he underplays the huskiness lending kindness, integrity and, most of all, familiarity to his animated alter ego.

At the end of the day, Jumbo is a fun entertainer about the making of a warrior-elephant with tons of action, lovable characters, awww-inducing moments and can-do spirit.

Akshay &Jumbo meal

December 24, 2008 18:45 IST
What's it about Dumbo, Horton or even Heffalumps that makes them so disarming, cute and cuddly at once? Big ears? Bouncy belly? Wide, innocent eyes? Quite contrary to their enormous size, elephants enjoy a loveable, soft-hearted image in the world of cartoons.
To play upon this conditioning enters Jumbo, originally a Thai-animation film Khan Kluay whose rights were purchased by Percept Picture Company (the makers of Hanuman) to dub it in Hindi and make it available to us.
The upgraded version opens with Akshay Kumar playing a superstar to the hilt -- vivaciously swinging to the pop beats of 'Everything's gonna be alright' (a catchy composition by Ram Sampath) before he proceeds to tell an inquisitive boy the inspiring tale of a jungle elephant Jaiveer, fondly addressed as Jumbo.
Inside the animated world of our mauve-skinned titular hero, we are introduced to a whole bunch of colourful forest inhabitants. Instead of joining other baby elephants at play, Jumbo amuses himself with a game of hide-and-seek in company of a bunch of frogs at the lotus pond. Although he's not entirely enjoying himself, Jumbo is wary of the bullies in his tribe taunting him about his father, previously a royal elephant, Yudhveer's mysterious disappearance.

Aamir Khan’s eight-pack abs is real

But Aamir Khan confirms his 8-pack abs is very much real.He worked hard over one year to perfect the look. Knowing the perfectionist Aamir, it wouldn’t come as a surprise.
His trainer made sure he worked out for 3-4 hours daily and had a good eight hours sleep. Aamir also maintained a strict protein rich diet, which included egg whites and fruits. Such was the actor’s determination that he would scream while doing the ab-crunches.
The first fan to be bowled over by his looks was good friend Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali who were treated to the first screening of the movie.
Aamir Khan confirmed,” Sachin, along with Anjali, saw the film although there’s still some work left. They loved the film. And yes, Sachin finally believed that it was actually my body on the posters of the film.”

Aamir Khan changes image for 3 Idiots

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie features Aamir as Ryan, a college Student. Ryan is a handsome and adventurous guy who loves his friends more than his parents. For the softer look of a collegian, Aamir has to look leaner, slightly hunched and all covered up.
Aamir Khan is known to be inclined towards method acting, to the extent it is practiced in Bollywood. “He is not the kind who will appear shirtless only because he’s built this body,”
Raj Kumar Hirani of Munnabhai Fame has etched out the role of Ryan in a unique way. and Aamir is trusting him completely with it.
“He’s not interfering on the sets and doesn’t even give his input to Raju,” the source said, “he’s concentrating on getting into his character and he’s got full faith in Raju’s script and direction.”
Based on Chetan Bhagat’s best selling novel Five Point Someone, the movie will start shooting in early December in Bangalore. Major part of the movie will be shot in Bangalore. Kareena Kapoor plays the female lead.

Shahrukh Khan

2008 has seen its share of ups and downs for King Khan. For one, Shahrukh didn’t have a single release all year at the box-office till Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi on December 12.
• But the actor was extremely busy with his small screen projects. His TV game show Kya Aaap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain was highly anticipated but it failed to gain TRPs. This was reason enough to fight with Salman Khan.
• Later, Shahrukh’s home production Billo Barber, which was supposed to release during Diwali, was postponed. According to sources, the south Indian film Kuselan, starring Tamil superstar Rajnikanth, flopped. So in order not to make the same mistake, they added more scenes with SRK to the movie. This was the first time that SRK didn’t a big release on Diwali
• Khan’s Temptation Reloaded came into limelight because Katrina Kaif was to perform with him on the tour through Europe. But the tour was called off due to money matters. It took place only in Dubai where Katrina Kaif and SRK both danced to his hits.
• Shahrukh and his family also made an appearance at the Drona premiere, dismissing rumours of there still being differences between SRK and Amitabh Bachchan.
• Most recently, SRK’s Rab Ne Banadi Jodi hogged the spotlight. SRK and Adi Chopra worked together after Mohabattein (2000), creating magic at the box-office. For Yash Raj, SRK’s comes as a savoir after a series of flop films. The film also marks the debut of Bangalore model Anushka Sharma.

Salman Khan

Sallu miya loves the limelight. And this year he’s gotten his fair share. The attention though came with the major spat he had with SRK at Katrina Kaif birthday party (July 16). The cause of the fight was that Salman deemed his game show Dus Ka Dum superior to Shahrukh Khan’s Kya Aaap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hai because it has done considerably better. Later, Salman told newspapers that he would “never forgive SRK.”
• The spat gave rise to Bollywood taking sides with the actors. Salman Khan opted out from dubbing for Karan Johar’s animated film Kochie Kochie Hota Hai.
• 2008 has not been very fruitful for Salman. All his films such as God Tussi Great Ho, Heroes and Yuvvraaj bombed at the box office. But he kept himself afloat with his television debut Dus Ka Dum that gained a large fan following.
• He’s now looking to turn his luck at the box office around with Veer, starring Miss UK and Katrina Kaif look-alike Lisa Lazarus. Salman has written the script for Veer himself and sports a macho look in the film.
• Let’s hope he can get through the rest of the year without sparking anymore controversies. We wish him a peaceful birthday for December 27.

Aamir Khan

In 2008, Mr. Perfectionist was in news when his nephew Imran Khan made his debut in Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na through Aamir’s production company. The duo made several public appearances together. They participated in Salman Khan’s game show Dus Ka Dum where Aamir and Salman reminisced about their Andaz Apna Apna Jodi days. In return, Salman Khan made an appearance at the Jaane Tu. premiere.
Similarly, Amitabh Bachchan attended the Jaane Tu.premiere. He liked the film, especially Imran Khan’s performance. It was after this that rumours about Aamir planning to direct a sci-fi film starring Amitabh made the rounds.
• Aamir also went to meet the ailing Amitabh when he was admitted to the Lilavati hospital. • After success of Jaane Tu Yaa…, Kiran Rao, with the help of her husband, debuts as a director by taking Prateik Babbar in the lead.
• Aamir made headlines with his controversial statement directed at Shahrukh Khan. In his blog, he stated that his “dog’s name is also Shahrukh”. Aamir later said that it was a just joke. But the rivalry didn’t stop there.
• Then, during the making of Ghajini, the shooting had to halt for more than three weeks when Aamir injured his hamstring.
• His new bald look, which was specially done of his forthcoming Ghajini, is currently in the spotlight. • The latest talk of the town are the 8 pack abs Aamir has been sporting- one step up from Bollywood fitness freaks Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and SRK. • He has also said in a recent interview that there is no war among the Khans.
• Now, all that the actor is waiting for is for Ghajini to release this Christmas. Let’s hope it’s as much of a hit as his Taare Zameen Par was.

Aamir Khan helped Jiah learn Urdu for & Ghajini

Jiah Khan, who thinks in English, got into trouble when she was asked to deliver lengthy emotional Urdu dialogues for 'Ghajini' in sync sound, but says that her co-star Aamir Khan bailed her out.
I must admit it was a bit of a problem. Aamir and the director got me an Urdu dialogue coach, Athar Nawaz who guided me. And each time I'd be stuck with a line Aamir helped me out,' Jiah told IANS.
My mom, who lives in London, flew down during the shooting. She speaks Urdu fluently. She ran through the dialogues with me over and over again. I think I've done my lines very well. To have my lines dubbed would have taken away from my performance. I think I managed my lines well,' she added.
Other than speaking Hindi, Jiah, who debuted with Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd', has also learned Bollywood style dancing.
Like the Urdu-Hindi, I've mastered the dancing to a large extent,' she said.
Jiah has also shot a song titled 'Lattoo' in 'Ghajini' with choreographer Gita Kapoor. Ad filmmaker Ravi Udyawar has directed it.
I realised how hard it is to do a sizzling song. The song is a very Jennifer Lopez kind of number. It's very stylish and chic. In a week's time, it goes on air. That should answer the question why I'm not seen in the publicity ;she said"

Fighting with Gordon Liu was a tough task: Akshay Kumar

The film, which has been shot in China and Bangkok, also stars Deepika Padukone in a double role.
'Playing two different characters was quite challenging for me as they are so contrasting in nature,' said Deepika, who played a double role in her debut film 'Om Shanti Om' as well.
'One is an Indian girl with traditional values and the other a Chinese girl, who is bold and sexy and does a lot of action,' she added.
'I had to go for a complete look change for both the roles, which made things quite difficult for me. Besides, doing an action film with someone like Akshay Kumar is quite challenging,' said Deepika.
Also present at the music launch were director Nikhil Advani and actor Ranvir Shorey.
'Chandni Chowk To China' will hit theatres Jan 16, 2009.
Akshay Kumar got to do some heady action sequences in Nikhil Advani's forthcoming 'From Chandni Chowk To China', but the action hero says fighting with Chinese martial arts master Gordon Liu was the toughest part of the film.
'I have watched '36 Chambers of Shaolin' 52 times before doing the film. Doing action for it and fighting with the Chinese masters, particularly Sir Gordon Liu, was the most difficult in the movie,' said Akshay.
Gordon Liu is known for his acts in Hollywood films like the 'Kill Bill' series and the 'Shaolin' series, including '36 Chambers of Shaolin'.
In 'Chandni Chowk to China', Akshay plays a simple cook from Delhi who goes to China to try his luck there.
'Getting into the character was not difficult as I have been a cook in my real life, but shooting for the movie has been a difficult experience,' Akshay told reporters at the film's music release here Tuesday.
'We have shot at the Great Wall of China and shooting there in extreme cold conditions was quite tough,' he said.

Chandni Chowk to China unit & lingo trouble

The recent shoot of Chandni Chowk to China suffered from a communication gap with the Chinese locals in Shanghai and Beijing. It took the Indian unit some days to work in harmony with the Chinese unit. Four interpreters were hired to facilitate coordination between the Indian and Chinese units.Choreographer Pony Verma recalls how they had to first learn to count one to ten in their language. It was not at all easy getting their accent, but after a couple of days, they managed. The Chinese dancers had to be told time and again that they had to start their steps after the count of four.It is known from the sources that Verma said, Chinese had never seen a Bollywood unit. It took them as much time to familiarize themselves with the Bollywood form of dance.Apparently, Akshay Kumar was dressed up as a king and Deepika Padukone as his queen for the song sequence. The song was shot at various places, like the Forbidden City and Shanghai. Verma says that she would have loved to shoot a portion of the song at the Great Wall of China, but an action sequence for the film had already been scheduled there.

Aamir stalls Ghajini's publicity

Shocked by the terror attacks, the actor suspends all promotional activities of his film Ghajini, reports Prithwish Ganguly
Aamir Khan had written that he was ‘shocked’, heartbroken’, ‘helpless’ and ‘angry’ post the Mumbai terror attack that killed around 200 people. Now, the sudden death of his sound engineer H Sridhar has only added to his depression.
Reliable industry sources say, Aamir has temporarily suspended all the promotional activities revolving around the release of his forthcoming film Ghajini.
“Aamir was shooting the night when the terror attack happened. He went back home immediately. He was in front of the television looking at the tragedy unfold and obviously he got depressed looking at the gory massacre. He did not go to work the next day despite having lots to do as he was just not in the right frame of mind to work,” says an insider.
The source adds: “He doesn’t seem to have revived from the shock as he cancelled his official meetings on Ghajini. He was of the opinion that he cannot work and carry on his routine life when in one part of the city people were getting affected and there was pain in the air. For the next two days post 26/11 he did not get out of his home and kept watching news channels. He said all this was making him depressed.”
We have more news about Aamir. “He then cancelled a promotional event in which he was supposed to meet the press that was scheduled on Wednesday. He cancelled it saying he did not want to talk about entertainment in this sensitive environment. There were a spate of public appearances that he was supposed to make as a build up to the film’s release. But he is in no mood to do any of this.
All these events those were pre-planned now stands cancelled. All activities are on hold. Again, his sound engineer H Sridhar suddenly passed away. Aamir had worked with him in films like Rangeela and Mangal Pandey, among others. This has only added to his depression. It will take sometime before he is back out in the open,” the informer ends.
Aamir has written in his blog on December 2: “The sudden news of his (Sridhar’s) untimely death came to me yesterday morning when I was still trying to pull myself out of the depressive state of mind I had slid into post the attacks on Mumbai. It left me shattered.”

Exclusive Shah Rukh Khan Interview

You didn’t go to any of the solidarity rallies in Mumbai because people will say you’re doing it to promote your film?
Silly people will anyway say silly things, which is ok... I keep reading some idiotic writer somewhere writing **** about me. But I felt there was no need for me to go and create confusion, because, as much as I may like to just go there normally, it won’t be normal – there will be channels, and I will be saying the same stuff. I am also as angry and as upset, but I am a little older so maybe I’m a little more controlled... I didn’t want to just hang around there. If it’s about solidarity, I know we’re all together. If it’s about sadness, we’re all very sad. I think the youngsters who went there and made a statement, that was important. I stand by them, even if I wasn’t personally there. Also, I don’t usually go and speak in public. I only come out in public and chat about my work when my film is releasing. So I felt that even if I go out and attend an event, people will misconstrue it. In a serious thing like this, I felt we didn’t need diversions, like oh, why is this actor saying this, why has this director gone here?
RGV?
Ya, I mean whether it was callous, not callous, all that can be discussed, but suddenly, for 2-3 days, we were subjected to complete movement away from the things that need to be addressed. And I’m not much for rallies and marches as it is.
Why is that?
I don’t know, I’m not made like that... I personally would’ve been just a noise and not a voice there, it would just have distracted from the fact that all the young people are standing together.
You’ve said you’ll support a non-communal party if the youth create one.
Ya, I will support it, I’ll be hundred per cent supportive. But when I say support, I don’t mean I’ll participate in politics. I’d always speak in good terms for a secular, younger party.
You’ve said that if we want to win this time, let us not allow ideological stuff to come into our way. How do you define winning this time?
Let me simplify. Whenever we hear, so and so person said, so and so religious sentiment should not be allowed to blossom, we should clearly ostracise that, say we’re not for it – we should not take it lying down, not say yeh toh chalta hai. The first thing we need to maintain is the beautiful secular nature of our country. I am such a big star in supposedly a Hindu-dominated country. How more secular can you be? But agendas of organisations – political or otherwise – become non-secular. The whole ideology of governance should be economic development, removal of poverty, and to achieve it, security, and education. We talk about them, but don’t go any further. There is no other ideology or agenda, there is no relevance of Islam or Hinduism or Christianity here.
In the same city, Raj Thackeray kept playing up a divisive agenda for months. Nobody asked him to shut up?
I think now people will. There is a togetherness that is brought by real fear, you know, we’ve suddenly experienced real fear.
Fear at the doorstep?
No, not doorstep, it’s come within our houses, its not doorsteps, that’s when there’s something happening at the borders. This is inside our bedrooms. Now we know what fear is. Now we all have a common enemy. People will raise their voices – come on, we’ve seen people shooting at us and killing us on the roads, you can’t scare me anymore by throwing a few stones at my shop, can you? That is a plus – if I can call it a plus. We’ve seen real attacks, real fear, and when you’ve seen it and lived through it, every other effort to bully or arm twist will look like just that, arm-twisting, it won’t seem like an attack.
Do you now need to think more seriously about the Indian Mujahideen threat, warning Muslim actors against working in Indian movies?
See, it’s a reality that now, everybody personally will also have to change the way they live and work and move around, pay attention to security... That all is one thing. But anybody saying, I should not work in cinema? Come on! If somebody tells me that religion doesn’t allow me to act in movies, I think it’s a little strange, because I don’t think when these tenets were given down, they were making movies, neither is there any reference to this in the Holy Book that I have read. No religion has even told anybody that work is wrong, any kind of work.
You’ve said that five years down the line, ‘I may do things in more detail but I’m not ‘selfless enough’ to be a politician.’ Currently, politicians and ‘selfless’ don’t make for a combo, do they?
I’m not talking about any specific existing politicians or pointing fingers at them. It’s difficult to run a house, and these people have to run a whole country. It’s a huge job, and whoever takes it on has to take it on with the realisation that he will have no time for himself, for family. Even my job as an actor, which is .001 per cent of a politician’s, leaves me with very little time. And I wish to have a little more time, to maybe write a book, to work a little more on my characters, to play with my kids. I don’t think I am ready to give it all up. So what I mean is that I am not so selfless that I give up my profession – which I’ll have to do if I take up the role to be a politician. And I find it very strange when people ask me, why aren’t you in politics? I find it like being asked why I am not an astronaut.
A politician’s is a very specialised, a completely full time job. How am I, a 43 year old man who wears make up and goes out to do shooting in the morning, be cut out to do this? So when I am asked this question again and again, then like the government, I say, five years later, please ask me. If I go to show my films to Soniaji or Mr Vajpayee or if they come over... everyone wants to know, am I joining politics? I say, come on, guys, I had dinner with Laxmi Mittal the other day, does that mean I am becoming a steel baron?
AR Rahman once called you an Ambassador Of Islam. You’ve been a national icon for over a decade – (“20 years!”, he reminds). How do you tell the youth who idolise you, connect to you more than to any politician, that there isn’t a necessity for bitterness, for angst, in living out your faith? What is your perspective for someone to be an ambassador of, or a model for, any faith?
First, being a model for any religion is not the right thing to do. That is something I am completely against. Religion is just a language, to seek the truth, and my language is what I’ve been taught, and each language stands as a self-sufficient one. There’s no need to say that my language expresses the truth better than yours. I’m very clear that my message to youngsters would be, there’s no religious icon that you need to follow. We’ve iconic books, we have iconic tenets – if we are able to imbibe them, within the perspective of modern education, that is the best way to be. Obviously there have to be some changes because the world is different now – so you don’t have to marry four times because that is not the call of the day. Read the books, if you want, in English, so long as you understand them better, and keep them close to your heart. Because these are personal things. These are as personal as your father’s spectacles that he has left behind... Like when my father died, I kept his specs. And I meet Karan and I see that he’s got his father’s specs too. But I never turn around and say, Karan, my father’s specs are better than your father’s specs! These are emotional attachments – so we just need to keep it personal and appreciate the fact that we have a little token of their memory. Religion to me is as personal as that – as the memories of your parents. And you don’t compare these memories – I remember my dad more than you remember your dad, my dad was better than your dad – how can you do that?
So how does something so personal lead to public conflicts?
Religion actually is discipline – it’s a way to do things. We’ve taken it to a level where we confuse religion with spirituality, that practicing religion is how you become spiritual. No! You become spiritual by believing in the power of the Supreme Being who created the world, whatever name you give it. And religion is a discipline which will help you, guide you, maybe help you understand the Supreme Being’s power faster than you otherwise would. I’d tell youngsters now that we need to create a new religion, a new discipline. And that new religion is work. Working with honesty, and working hard, in the improvement of the place which you call your own – which is your country. That is all. Work hard, earn from it, live well, make a happier world for the closest of your associates, friends, families. Take care of your small world – if you do that, slowly, the world will be taken care of...
The person who is anti- a community or religion, he not only does not understand that community, he does not understand his own. That’s because the only reason for being insecure with somebody else’s community is that you are not very sure and secure about yours.
So long as you are secure in the knowledge that my discipline is ok, and its working for me, you don’t need to impart it to someone else or force them to it. As long as I am not stepping on your toes by practicing my discipline, I think we should let everyone be. I think we need to be more self-obsessed, more self-assured, more self-sustaining.

Akshay left speechless by Chinese stuntman

Akshay Kumar can't help but admire the stuntmen from China with whom he worked in close collaboration during his Chandni Chowk To China shoot. He truly believes that they have mastered the art of action. Also, there is a lot that not just India but the world can learn from the Chinese when it comes to Kung Fu skills. "They are the best in the business and we all were in awe of them when we saw them contributing to Chandni Chowk To China. The kind of preparation they do is unparalleled", says Akshay Kumar who is returning to action four years after Raj Kumar Santoshi's Khakee and Madhur Bhandarkar's Aan - Men At Work, "The sort of dedication they demonstrate is for all of us to learn."

Now, that’s some pleasant surprise for someone who’s a big time Jacko fan. Grapevine has it that Hrithik couldn’t believe his eyes when the ‘Pop King’ walked into his caravan in Los Angeles, where he was stationed for the shooting of ‘Kites’, being directed by Anurag Basu. Hrithik, who was busy decking up for the next shot stood aghast when Jacko walked in his royal style. A source close to the actor revealed, “Hrithik was in his make-up room when Michael's two bodyguards entered. He was taken aback to see these burly men enter the room. On questioning them, he learnt that they were Michael's body guards.” Hrithik who is often seen following the jazzy Jacko moves for most of his dance sequences was shocked on learning the visitors name. “Michael introduced himself to Hrithik. Why Ash refused Dostana

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may have missed out on Dostana but she will be seen in Karan Johar's [Images] next production.

"I didn't do Dostana [Images] because I felt it was more about Abhishek Bachchan [Images] and John Abraham [Images]," Ash said at a product launch. "It was supposed to be our first [romantic] film after our wedding, in which I would have ended up with another hero [Bobby Deol [Images]]. I felt it would not give [the right] message.

"Sarkar [Images] Raj was a different kind of role, it was not a romantic story. It was appreciated by people. I felt that this would not be the same case for Dostana," Ash added.

But how did she feel when Abhishek kissed John in the film? "Did you see the film?" Ash asked the journalist concerned. When the journalist replied in the affirmative, Ash asked him if he liked it. When he nodded his head, she said, "That's all that matters. I know people loved it, so it was fine by me."

Rab ne bana di jodi Movie Review

Reportedly King Khan (read Shahrukh Khan) has seen his upcoming film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi at a private screening and he loved the film. A private screening of the much awaited film was recently held by the banner Yashraj Films for the film’s cast and crew which included SRK,Gauri Khan, their kids, Anushka Sharma, Aditya and Yash Chopra and Karan Johar. Everyone loved the film that’s the news we are getting. The story line of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was being kept as a guarded secret. There were reports that there were only three copies of the script. And even till end, Anushka wasn’t shown the script.(lol) But now it has been leaked. So, heres the story line, apparently the film is a very earthy romantic film about Shah Rukh Khan who is married to Anushka Sharma and there is a huge age difference between them and they are not what one would call a perfect couple. They are merely stretching their marriage with no real romance in between them. They are two very different people. Theres reality dance show called Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - which is the main backdrop of the movie. The show is on the lines of popular television show, Nach Baliye. Apparently Anushka wants to take part in the dance competition but she cant because her husband is old and not hip and happening she fears that if she dances with him, she will lose the show and become the laughing stock among all her friends, who are taking part in the same. Shah Rukh Khan overhears his wifes problem and decides to go in for a makeover. He then watches some movies and changes his image completely and comes back to the show and woos Anushka off her feet. All the way through the dance competition, she keeps falling in love with this new and improved Shah Rukh Khan, without once realising that the man she is dancing with is her real husband." Yash Raj films has refused to comment on it. Aditya ne bana di Superhit ! More news about RNBDJ, heard that Yash Raj Films has delayed the advance booking of the film. The advance booking was earlier slated to open on 7 December, but has now been shifted to 10 December. So instead of a five-day window, the film will only get a two-day advance booking window.
