SRK Beats Salman Khan in best Actor Title Race

So Much has been spoken and written about Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan’s antagonism though the actors have claimed more than once that All is well between them. Actually, they battled for the Best Actor of 2010 title, although it was in a poll. At the end, Shahrukh beat Salman for the greatest Actor of 2010 title by a whisker.

Shahrukh got 45.54% vote while Salman got 43.25% vote. They are followed Hrithik Roshan (4.72%) and Ranbir Kapoor (2.17%). Among the actresses, Kajol has been chosen Best Actress of 2010 with 49.7% of vote, Kangana Ranaut (9.55%), Aishwarya Rai (8.89%) and Priyanka Chopra (7.5%). In the Best Film of the year 2010 category, Dabangg separated itself with 62.67%, beating Once Upon A Time In Mumbai (13.55%), Raajneeti (9.62%),  and Peepli Live (5.63%).

Abhinav Kashyap, the man behind Dabangg, is voted the best director of the year, beating Prakash Jha, Milan Luthria, Bhansali and Anusha.

Hrithik Roshan'as much-hyped film "Kites", which released worldwide on Friday (May 21), garnered a mixed response from critics and fans. The love story, which marks Hrithik's return to the big screen after a gap of two years, is high on style but falters in the writing department, feel critics. They also lamented that Kangana Ranaut has been wasted with a "half-baked" role. Critic Anupama Chopra said Hrithik was spectacular but the film "does not become more than the sum of its parts because the second half is flat and in places, outright foolish". Sallu miya loves the limelight. And this year he’s gotten his fair share. The attention though came with the major spat he had with SRK at Katrina Kaif birthday party (July 16). The cause of the fight was that Salman deemed his game show Dus Ka Dum superior to Shahrukh Khan’s Kya Aaap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hai because it has done considerably better. Later, Salman told newspapers that he would “never forgive SRK.”
• The spat gave rise to Bollywood taking sides with the actors. Salman Khan opted out from dubbing for Karan Johar’s animated film Kochie Kochie Hota Hai.
• 2008 has not been very fruitful for Salman. All his films such as God Tussi Great Ho, Heroes and Yuvvraaj bombed at the box office. But he kept himself afloat with his television debut Dus Ka Dum that gained a large fan following.
• He’s now looking to turn his luck at the box office around with Veer, starring Miss UK and Katrina Kaif look-alike Lisa Lazarus. Salman has written the script for Veer himself and sports a macho look in the film.
• Let’s hope he can get through the rest of the year without sparking anymore controversies. We wish him a peaceful birthday for December 27.
